Dr Linda West, Clinical Director, Geelong Breast Clinic
Clinical Director, Geelong and SouthWest BreastScreen
Dr West trained in diagnostic radiology at the Alfred and Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. She completed radiology training at Kings College Hospital London and worked as specialist radiologist at Atkinson and Morley and the Maudsley Hospital’s London.
Linda is a full-time breast radiologist with interests in all aspects of breast imaging and intervention including high risk screening and breast MRI. She underwent a breast MRI fellowship in 2008 at the Seattle Cancer Care University of Washington USA.
She has been Director of Geelong BreastScreen since its inception in 1993 and is also currently Clinical Director of Geelong Breast Clinic. She has a visiting appointment at University Hospital Barwon Health. She is currently a committee member on the Radiology Q Group and also the Clinical Reference Group for BreastScreen Victoria.
She has co-authored a number of papers related to breast screening and the role of breast imaging in neoadjuvant therapy. Linda teaches registrars and fellows and has been an invited speaker at many conferences.
Dr Vince Mercuri, Breast Radiologist
Dr Vince Mercuri undertook training in radiology at the Royal Melbourne Hospital between 1990 and 1994 during which time he completed a fellowship in breast imaging at North-West BreastScreen. Whilst maintaining broad general radiology skills his main interests are all aspects of magnetic residence imaging and breast imaging. In 2006 Dr Mercuri was awarded the Churchill Fellowship and undertook training in breast MRI at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in New York and Philadelphia Hospital for the University of Pennsylvania. He has completed sabbatical training in cardiac CT and MRI at Northwestern Memorial Hospital Northwestern University in Chicago USA. He has been an examiner for the Australian and New Zealand Society of Neuroradiology for 4 years.
Dr Tony French, Breast Radiologist
Dr Tony French qualified with an MBBS from Melbourne University in 1977, his fellowship in radiology was granted in 1985. Dr French continues as Director of Western Medical Imaging and has been a partner at Lake Imaging since 2011. Dr French has specific interests in breast imaging, cardiac CT (Level A accredited), thoracic radiology and musculoskeletal radiology.
Dr Imogen O’Meara, Breast Radiologist
Dr Imogen O’Meara is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR). She was awarded a BA/BSc (Hons) from the University of Melbourne before obtaining her MBBS through the University of Queensland. She then worked at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and Greenslopes Hospital as a junior doctor. After completing her specialist radiology training in Geelong, she undertook further fellowship training in MRI and Breast Imaging. She has interests in MRI, breast imaging including breast MRI, MSK imaging and prostate MRI.
Dr Kim Simcox, Breast Radiologist
Dr Kim Simcox is an accredited Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists.
Following the successful completion of her Radiology training at The Waikato Hospital, in New Zealand, Dr Simcox joined Lake Imaging/Integral Diagnostics as a Consultant Radiologist. She has a special interest in Musculoskeletal Imaging and Breast Imaging and has completed fellowships in both.
Laticia Schilder, Chief Radiographer and Designated Radiographer for Geelong and South-West BreastScreen
Laticia has many years of experience not only diagnostic mammography and screening and assessment mammography but all aspects of procedural breastwork. She has held a senior leadership and management role since Geelong Breast Clinic was opened in 2009 and heads a team of dedicated female radiographers who have chosen to specialise in breast imaging. Laticia is a naturally gifted educator and mentor and convenes regular workshops for our radiographic team in Geelong and also those in Warrnambool and Portland. She ensures that all our staff have an opportunity to achieve their CCPM.
Frankie Linke, Designated Nurse Counsellor
Frankie is a breast nurse counsellor of many years experience since the launching of Geelong and South-West BreastScreen in 1993. She has supported and advised many women who have attended our clinic and has become a welcome and familiar face for women returning for imaging and procedures. She leads with kindness and compassion and heads a team of like-minded dedicated breast nurses with close relationships to Breast Care Nurses at University Hospital Barwon Health, SJOG Hospital Geelong and Warrnambool and Portland.
